Swedish Postcard

This postcard was sent to Mrs. Peterson, in Lucerne, from her friend, Alma Carlson, in Greeley. The Greeley Sugar Beet Factory was constructed in 1902 and
became a major Weld County employer and an industrial marvel of its day.

During the translation of this Swedish language text it was determined to have been written in the Swedish-American style (nicknamed “Swenglish”)common in the
early 20th century, and it has a few spelling mistakes.

Dear Mrs. Peterson

When you come down to the city would you be sokind to bring my hat with you as
I need it soon now that we have summer

And maybe you can come see me sometime when you are in the city address is 1214 8th Street - the house next to Forsdal’s*
