Grenemeyer No. 1 Dedication

On Friday, October 14, 2011, Encana Oil & Gas Inc. held a dedication ceremony and commemorative sign installation for the Grenemeyer #1 - the original discovery well for the Wattenberg field. The original spud date for this well was March 6, 1970, and the original dedication took place 40 years ago on Nov. 2. This dedication represented 40 years of production in the Denver Julesburg Basin. Encana, now the owner and operator, conducted the ceremony to honor the historical significance of the Grenemeyer No. 1 well and the clean energy resources this well continues to provide the community and the nation.
